I decided to swing by my local Ford dealership to see what they had. To my surprise, they had 17 Mavericks for sale! 15 new, 2 used. Also, I got to see the new Fury Orange on it for the first time! Not just one but a few! I don't how I feel about it. I feel like it would get old pretty quickly. It almost looks like a Tonka truck. I still haven't seen them in the wild yet. What do you think?

I think the Grabber colors started in 1970. They also got different names on the Merc's. My brother and I did bodywork and paint on his Competition Blue Boss 302 Eliminator last winter.

I like the Orange Maverick, but not sure if I would want to live with it for 4-5 years. It kinda stands out all the time and I only like to do that on occasion.

Very Nice Boss 302 Cougar Eliminator I love the 69-70 Cougars and I don't think I knew Mercury called Grabber Blue Competition Blue.

I saw one in person last month and was a bit disappointed in the shade of the color. I really like my 2004 Vibe GT orange metallic shade and was hoping that the Maverick would be similar .... not even close :( Too flat & not enough metallic in the finish. Also it is closer to a Mustard Yellow than an Orange. At least on the day I looked at it. A sunny day could net a totally different shade.

I had a 1982 Datsun 200SX that was Burnt Orange. And I LOVED it !!! Not my car but mine looked just like this one.

It's one of those colors you love or hate. Personally, I'd love it. To be safe, manufacturers mostly make their vehicles in colours that a lot of people kinda like but few actually hate. I remember back in the 1970s cars came in a larger variety of interesting colors. A lot various shades of blues, reds, greens, yellows and browns that you either don't see or rarely see.
