I took my first Road trip in my AWD , HYBRID MAVERICK a week ago. I was pleased. I was accompanied by my 93 year old mother and my 68 year old sister with 4 days worth of luggage, a conventional walker and a walker with a seat. Everything fit in the bed under the hard folding tonneau cover. I'm 5'10" . My mother had her seat in about the same position as mine, and my sister (probably 5'9" with an "aftermarket" knee). She sat behind my mother and had no complaints other than the rear speaker being too close to her ear. I simply changed the radio to the driver setting. It was a 250 mile trip. The outside temp was 95-100 degrees. And I had the cruise set to 80mph and in the normal driving mode. Even under those conditions I averaged about 30mpg. Not bad at all. The AC cooled quickly. I only used Max for about 5 minutes after being parked in the afternoon sun. Other than that I just set it at 73 and left it. I had no problem accelerating and merging into traffic. And the seat was comfortable. Not many TRUCKS can get 30 MPG in 95-100 degree weather while doing a solid 80 mph. While it doesn't have the ride of a luxury vehicle. It actually rides pretty good. The Maverick isn't just a commuter vehicle. It's also a vehicle worthy of the highway!
