Not lights related but you wouldn't happen to know anything about that hood decal would you?

How does the HUD RPM gauge handle the hybrid power meter? Does it indicate when the truck is in electric only mode or does it ignore the battery altogether and only consider the engine RPM?

Hello Maverick Truck Club Members!

My name is Bobby and I'm the social media manager here at F150LEDs!

We're based in Augusta, Georgia which of course is world renowned for hosting the Masters Golf Tournament, but we are also deep in the heart of Ford Country! All of our team members are fellow Ford drivers and our mission as a company is to improve the driving experience, safety, and appearance of the Ford trucks we all love through our premium LED technology and dedicated support team!

We aim to serve all Ford truck owners so naturally once the Maverick was announced we knew we had to get one! As most in this group can relate to, it was extremely tough to secure a maverick but a few months ago we finally managed to receive our
Carbonized Gray Ford Maverick Lariat!

Our IT Guru Mat gets the pleasure of driving it as his daily and I'm more than a little jealous!

Bobby and your F150LED's team
Bobby - could you share the installation instructions for the 3-light raptor kit? I want to know what I'm getting into before buying this kit. I'm also interested in the front markers and 3rd brake/cargo kits, but I suspect that is a simple bulb replacement. Correct? Your website has a space for instructions, but nothing is posted.

Hey Maverikkilake,

We're still trying to work out this issue on hybrid. We've tried a few different setting adjustments for several different trucks and have had mixed results. I would recommend waiting to order our HUD for a hybrid until we can get this issue resolved!

I will make sure the site manager adds a note to that product page, thank you so much for bringing up this issue!

Any progress getting the Heads Up Display product to work on the Mac Hybrid? I still see the 'won't work" message on the F150LEDs website. Thanks!

The bulbs look great while they work. Unfortunately one of mine has already died after just a few years and less than 20K miles on the truck.

I paid the premium for nice bulbs from F150 LEDs expecting high quality, OEM-equivalent LEDs that would last a long time. Instead they died faster than an incandescent. I'd look elsewhere.

Thanks a lot for sharing this information.
It seems like that most LED's are not the way they used to be. I always expected LED's to hold up for a long time. But that is not the case anymore - independent from the manufacturer.
Even the LED light bulbs in my house only hold a couple of years - only a little bit longer than regular ones. The only advantage is that they use less energy.

It's not impossible for an LED to fail, but modern one's are more reliable than older ones and LEDs in general rarely are the source of failure, so it's most likely some other component(s) in the light that have failed. LED bulbs are much more complicated than incandescent, which don't (usually) have any electronic components in them, whereas LEDs have circuit boards and drivers that are less robust than the LED module itself and can come in varying levels of quality.

I'd say the difference now compared to 20+ years ago is that there are a lot of no-name brands making super cheap bulbs and those are the first that everyone looks at buying, since high quality LED bulbs can still be a bit pricey. They use very cheap electronics that most likely fail due to being unable to handle power fluctuations or the heat that they (or other) components generate. I have some CREE and GE brand LED bulbs that are at least 7-8 years old and still working fine, and I've had some cheap LEDs from unknown brands that stopped working after a year or two. I'm not sure if I have any of those cheap one's anymore but if I do, next time one fails I'll take it apart and see if I can power the LED module directly.

I've seen multiple people have issues with their raptor style grill lights. Its a huge pita to swap those out if you install them in a clean manner.

I agree with you overall, Matt, there are plenty of high-quality LEDs being made that last a very long time. The problem is when companies claim they're selling high-quality LEDs, and charge like they are, but are selling the same junk LEDs everyone else is. I should have known with the 1 year warranty!

To clarify too, they even claim they are using CREE elements, maybe they are I wouldn't know: https://www.f150leds.com/products/2022-ford-maverick-cree-front-running-blinker-led-light-bulbs

The 121 reviews at 4.9 stars is nice. Too bad they never posted my 2 star review. 🤔

Yeah, marketing claims are another thing that have always been borderline dishonest but in the past decade or so seem to have gotten a lot worse. I work in a creative field and have friends in advertising, but I hate the lack of truth in advertising (and just non-consumer friendly things in general).

Thought this was pretty comical. The F150 LEDs YouTube channel asked me to contact support. Their AI emailed me back immediately saying they won't assist.
