Hey Mavericktruckclub,
Wanted to post a few pictures and say a few thank yous to those on this forum. With all of the posts that have been made, I was able to successfully do the diode dynamics fog light kit install on my 2022 Maverick. I originally followed an excellent post by @Lgoodso and used the same technique that they did - F150 hybrid headlight switch, pin 6 in bcm with forscan to enable the fog lights, and running the signal wire through the firewall in what I’d call an “access area” next to the rubber coming in for the bcm wiring on the passenger side floor.
I’d say that it took me most of a weekend to do all of the work, taking my time and routing the wiring and learning along the way. Taking the front bumper off was my biggest source of worry - I’ve broken too many plastic clips over the years to want to be doing that on a “new“ vehicle. This was also my first time doing ForScan, which was a little daunting while I was learning all of the quirks of utilizing it, but now feel very comfortable and have done several other mods (TSR, remote up and down windows, etc.)
For those of you on this forum a bit concerned about doing this mod but are interested in it - feel free to ask me any questions and give it a try! I got a lot of self satisfaction and enjoyment out of doing this, and obviously love the results and functionality that you get.
Thanks @Jag1046 for sending me the signal wire and pin for the bcm. It was great to be able to use that factory part for my install without having to buy the entire bag from Ford - thanks for “paying it forward!” Apologize it took me a year (!) to get this posted, I was waiting for a sale on the DD kit since it’s so expensive, which finally came around Black Friday. I then had to wait 3+ months to get the kit in my hands. Took me another month to get a chance to have the truck down for a weekend to work on it. Then it’s taken me a few weeks to do this write up. Appreciate your generosity!
