F150 5 liter 4x4 rental

My Maverick had to go in the shop for some minor work. Even though the work would be completed the same day, they set me up in a rental. A GIANT 2023 F150 XLT 4x4. It had most of the bells and whistles including the 400HP 5 liter V8. That thing is huge compared to my Mav. I had to use the steering wheel to help pull myself up into the cab. The 10 speed automatic jerked in every gear when downshifting. But holy hell did that thing accelerate! Damn, I miss a good V8 . . . And the throaty sound it makes. Don’t miss only getting 17MPG through.

Even the "smaller" Ranger level trucks are quite big with many features that aren't needed, although I do wish the Mav was body on frame. Only thing I would change about it.

The jerkiness of the trans tells me it’s still in learning mode. That usually goes away after 500-800 miles. Big but fun to drive. I will kind of miss my f150 when my maverick arrives.
