Equipment Group 500A bed rail missing

The purpose of this thread is to determine if Ford removed the locking bed rail from anyone else’s 2023 Maverick ordered with a Lariat Luxury package also known as Equipment Group 500A

Equipment Group 500A includes the following;

SIBL
Ford Co-Pilot 360
Trailer hitch receiver
Bed tie down with locking rail

October 6th 2022, I ordered a 2023 Lariat Hybrid with the Lariat Luxury package. Upon receiving my Maverick October 3rd 2023, I noticed the bed rail was not included. The bed tie downs in the corners are included.

I previously had ordered a 2022 XLT Hybrid with the Luxury Package and it included the bed rail.

I checked Ford website’s (Canada and US) and observed that for a 2024 with the Lariat Luxury package the bed rail is currently included.

I took a screen shot October 5th 2022, from the Ford Canada website the day before I placed my order for October 6th 2022.

It showed if I removed the Lariat Luxury package that the bed rail, SIBL, Ford CoPilot 360 and trailer hitch receiver would be removed. This confirms so it was included in the Lariat Luxury package at the time I placed my order.

Still working with the dealership to resolve the issue.

Anyone else have the locking bed rail removed from their Lariat Luxury package?

The Sliding/Locking Bed Rails were no longer part of the Lux option in '23. You needed to have the Lux option to add them, but they're NOT part of the Lux option in '23 as they were in '22. The dealer needed to add that option separately, as was the case with CP360, CP360 Assist, and the SIBL for '23.

Now for '24, the Lariat includes all those options as standard equipment, it only comes 'fully' loaded for '24.

Assuming the vehicle is built, they can be added at dealer cost of around $300, give or take. The initial re-order system didn't show the option, and they were missed on my rollover, and I just bought them at cost from the dealer and installed them. - BTW, you need to remove one of the stationary die-down points near the front of the bed on each side to install them.

Did you receive the spray-in bedliner? Both the bedliner and the locking rails were removed but if you got one but not the other that would be weird.

The SIBL was included.

Your dealer should’ve added the bed rails to the order when they added the SBL, Ford gave a $250 discount on the two after they decided to scrap the SBL/rails for 2023 in the LUX package.

Guess I ordered in the wrong year. It’s a $695 add on in Canada.

I ordered them separate after Ford announced they were to be deleted from the Lux Pkg... Very simple install.
