I have a 2026 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid that I want to use Forscan on. I used Forscan on a 2021 Ford F250 with an ELM327 v1.5 adapter and used the same adapter on the Maverick. After updating my license and using Forscan to connect to the Maverick, there were several things that I didn’t understand.

  • The connection seemed to OK until I saw the message “This adapter is not recommended for this car.”
  • PCM: Unable to read DTC?
  • There were only 8 modules shown. My F250 had a lot more modules.
See the log below:

Can anyone help? Thanks

Is yours one of the ones with the HS/MS toggle switch? I originally had one of those and it didn't work great for me, so I got the Forscan-recommended OBDLink EX. Works perfectly every time on every vehicle that I've used it on.

Yes, it has the HS/MS switch. I actually also have the ODBLink EX adapter. I couldn't recall which one I used on the F250. I'll try using that next time. Thanks

Also be aware you'll need an adapter compatible with the Worldwide Harmonized On-Board Diagnostics (WWH-OBD), defined under the ISO 27145 standard - for 25/26.

Maybe it was just 26.

Fooled around with this all afternoon and finally deleted Forscan and started over. Bingo - Everything is working fine. I made a few changes and now I'm having fun. Cheers
