Removing the driver door key tumbler assembly. Please no guesses. Someone that has actually removed one. I need to switch it from a wrecked door to another door. Thanks in advance. Jerry in Ky.

Pull the rubber cover on the side of the door. You'll see a small bolt head (I think it was 5mm). Put a socket on and extension and slowly start undoing the bolt while pulling the door handle out (use medium pressure pulling door handle out). When the door handle releases, take it right out (a little wiggling may be required). You'll then have the lock housing by itself on the door. Grab the housing and continue to turn out that small bolt while pulling the lock and its housing straight out. It will pop free. Installation is the opposite, but do not over tighten the small bolt when reinstalling. Do about 3 turns after the handle is pulled down by the tightening the bolt. I did this just a few days ago. There are videos on the web about doing the handle. The tumbler mechanician is just a few more turns after removing the handle. Once you do it, it'll be: well, that was easy enough. Just go slowly.Removing the driver door key tumbler assembly. Please no guesses. Someone that has actually removed one. I need to switch it from a wrecked door to another door. Thanks in advance. One last thing, If you're going XL to XL or any similar model to similar model you're golden. If not plan to use the harness currently on the door by unplugging everything inside the door and labeling it. then pass the wires through the main gromet. I have an XLT but found a Lariat door and of course mine was driver door so the harness was different.Removing the driver door key tumbler assembly. Please no guesses.
