I only have about 300 miles on a 2024 Lariat AWD, When I first got it, I had the four drive modes: Standard, eco, slippery and sport. Now a fifth one has appeared: Towing. What gives?

Tow/haul mode should turn on automatically when you plug something into the trailer harness. You can still manually change the drive mode.

I'm pretty sure you can also choose an option in the driver's info panel menu to display it all the time. That menu is also how you toggle the display for trip 2, advanced AWD status, etc.

The Maverick has always come standard with 5 drive modes and drivetrain doesn't matter. It didn't just magically appear so my guess is you just didn't notice it until now.

The five standard drive modes are: Normal, Eco, tow/haul, slippery, and sport.

Unless you have an FX4. Still five, but Eco and Sport are replaced with Mud and Sand. I have added Eco and Sport, for a total of 7 options with FORScan.

The other two drive modes called mud/ruts and sand are optional drive modes they are not standard. The reason they are considered optional is because you need optional equipment in order to get them.

Thank you for the complete name, however you should know that those two options come as STANDARD with the FX4, which is Off-road, AWD, Ecoboost. At least they did on my 2024 FX4 and my Grandson’s 2024 FX4, equipped identically

you can see from my description to the left that I identified my vehicle as on FX4

Sigh.......the FX4 package is an OPTIONAL package not standard equipment. I can't believe you are arguing with me about this but here we go.

From the most recent 2024 order guide. The same information is true for 22MY and 23MY Mavericks.
Ford Maverick Drive Mode - It has changed! standard equipment

Sigh!

The description you have posted is precisely what I have. I think you are splitting hairs on terms. After all a XLT is optional over a XL or Lariat. Reading from my Window Sticker, I received several Optional features, listed as Optional/Other:
FX4 Off-Road Package
17” Unique Aluminum Wheel
4K Tow Package
XLT Luxury Package
Ford Co-Pilot 360

I bought the FX4 Option just like the Ford Co-Pilot, etc. Those features went into the build. My comments were only to inform people that my vehicle didn’t come with Eco and Sport, but since I bought the “option” of FX4 Package, I received the drive modes listed initially.

All I was trying to convey is that I knew what I was getting and found a way with FORScan to add the remaining drive modes that come normally on vehicles without FX4.

Nuff said, let’s move on

So yeah it's pretty obvious you aren't familiar with the differences between standard equipment and optional equipment.

Everything I posted is accurate so if you have an issue with the nomenclature take it up with Ford not me.

I am familiar that the standard drive modes for my FX4 do not include Eco and Sport.as defined by Ford.

So what’s your next word
