Does changing engine a week before “scheduled” build change place in line?

So I originally ordered a fully loaded XLT on 9/24/21, but when I found out about changing the engine options it may have been too late. I changed end of Nov or early Dec, and my build week was set for middle of Dec.

Does this mean my new (changed) order gets put into the back of the queue and I have to wait longer, or will my scheduled week stay the same

You ordered an EcoBoost on 9/24/2021, I don't recall anywhere that you are allowed to change the engine from EcoBoost to Hybrid after after the close of Hybrid order on 11/15/2021.

From what I remember, once your truck has been previewed by your regional Ford office, your Priority number is changed to a 2, and sent to Ford HQ for a production date. Once it has been previewed and forwarded, you can't change anything. Also, if you haven't heard, Ford was offering people a chance to change from hybrid to ecoboost, but that window has closed. They didn't offer it the other way around. Constraints with the hybrid engine and some of the packages have pushed back those orders until who knows when.

About the only thing I can tell you is to do like I did. I ordered a hybrid XLT with Lux and CP on 15 Oct 21 and was told then to expect it in 12 weeks. On the 12th week, no word except the initial confirmation email from Ford. It was at that point I decided to contact Ford dealers as far away as I was willing to travel. It took several weeks, but I found an XL with CP and the lux pkg in Charlotte, NC. I flew up there, finalized financing which I secured online, and drove it home 546 miles. In the middle of March, still nothing from Ford, except a call from the dealer I ordered from recommending I remove the lux pkg and changing over to ecoboost. I told him I was sticking to my original order. At the end of March, they called me back and told me they just got in a hybrid XLT w/lux that a customer canceled. I traded in the XL for the XLT. I got a production date email on 22 Aug, followed by six push back emails, then got the cancellation notice for the '22 I ordered and option to convert to a '23, but I was told by the dealer they had dropped the lux and CP on my order to try to get it into production w/o my consent, and I wasn't allowed to make any changes if I decide to make it a '23. I decided to order a '23 hybrid Lariat w/lux and both CP's, and was notified by my dealer that my order probably wouldn't go into production. I held tight, then got a notification email Ford about delays and constraints. I decided I wasn't going to keep playing the waiting game two years in a row, so I once again contacted Ford dealers as far away as I was willing to travel. It took several weeks, but I found a hybrid Lariat w/Lux, CP, moonroof, SIBL, electric rear window, and ceramic tinting on the windows. All negotiations were done over the phone, and email, then I drove down to Tampa from Pensacola, traded in my XLT for the Lariat, and I'm happier than a pig in mud that my due diligence paid off, not once, not twice, but three times!

My advice to you at this point is if you're not happy with what you ordered, you aren't going to be happy when it arrives. You can do like I did and start contacting Ford dealers. If you find one you like, then buy it and don't take delivery of the one you ordered.

Geez I'm in maverick mode also. Order one, then buy refused hybrid, wife liked it and I said ok I'll keep one ordered. Am looking forward to trading for plug-in. By time I am through I could pay 8k+ sales tax😳
