The front hood does not open . The gaps are no equal . It looks like it shifted. The rear is worse , I had to force the tailgate open . The bottom of the bed is about 1/2 inch in compared to the top. It use to be flush. When I tried to remove the cubby in the bed , I couldn’t it was jammed in . Looking at it from the side the rear bumper moved forward. Some one cut in without looking the driver in front of slammed on the breaks I was able to stop in time the active breaking did the job but the truck in back of me didn’t stop so he hit me , I hit the van in front and the van in the front hit the wall. Sorry about the pictures, I was not able to take pictures of the rear the truck was to close to another vehicle.
It doesn’t look to bad at first glance. It’s when you take a closer look that stress me.

Looks like your entire hitch assembly got pushed multiple inches inward (based on the trailer light/brake plug position being at such an extreme angle)? Also your license plate light looks like it is dangling. If yes, I think you are screwed. Uni-body frame does not play well with "something is pushed inwards multiple inches".

Thanks for the input , you are 100% right it looks like the lower part of the truck moved forward. The top of the bed is detached to the bottom part. It’s hard to take pictures with a neck brace.

Front not much problem, the rear would have to see if hitch mounts are wrinkled bad beyond east pull , if it goes farther up the rear subframee box and is wrinkled they will total it.too many spot welds to drill and replace/paint various sheet metal pieces. In stages.
Won’t affect driving probably , consider a cheap buyback and resell as a salvage yourself or keep and thrash it as a complete work truck!
And order another for the fancy one.

I hope you're okay.
I totaled my 22 ecoboost a month ago. Looked like just a few body panels until they put it on a lift.
It doesn't take much to total one, unfortunately.

Uni-body construction is not a good base for repairs.........insurance adjusters are working for the insuarance company. If in doubt ask for a "tear down" to assertain extent of real damage...........that is an insuarance company expense and an expensive one they want to avoid..............going thru this very procedure now with a Subaru..........Good luck !

Don't be surprised if they total this.

It looks like the entire unibody twisted and if that is the case they will likely total it. Anytime a frame, or a unibody, is twisted the repair skyrockets and the value of the vehicle drops near to what a Totaled title is.

If they total it: Do not let them come in low on the valuation of your truck. The Maverick has held its value incredibly well. The majority of the trucks are still holding near MSRP values on the secondhand market.*

If they repair it:
Seek a Diminished Value claim. Even when properly repaired the truck will be worth less than if it hadn't been damaged and repaired. The difference in value can be substantial!**

edit:

*It isn't impossible for certain configurations to sell for above MSRP due to availability constraints.

**The claim will pay you the difference between the two values. While allowing you to keep the truck.

Sorry to hear they totaled your Maverick. I hope you didn’t get hurt. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thank you, it reaggravated an old shoulder injury, but no other damage to me, as far as I can tell.
The only thing that made it better was finding almost the exact same vehicle on used car lot. Paying more for the used one than I did for the new one, didn't help though.
I miss my Ford discount.
Hopefully things work out for you.
