I have a 2023 Maverick XLT which has no heated seats! However, when I was picking up the lost coins, I noticed what appears to be a connector at the bottom of the seat!! Made me wonder if the fronts seats already ship with Heat elements and they just have to be wired?!

Am I going crazy?!

It’s highly unlikely but wishful thinking, that would be an added expense by Ford and not something they would normally do but it would be an amazing oversight and good for you…

I think the heat element connectors are gray 4 pin for seat cushion and gray 2 pin for the backrest. They would be wired to the larger connector under the seat

Thanks Gene. I am going to poke around under the seat cause the 3rd party elements don't inspire confidence in me and I really don't like to buture the car with shotty DIY upgrade.

It would be much simpler supply chain to keep 1 SKU for seats and just not wire them during the installation for models which do NOT have that option! But then again, what do I know about making cars! Our startup consulted wth Ford in Dearborn and I learned NOT to share ANY opinioins about building cars as long as they did not tell us HOW to write software!

I was looking at what type of connectors the heat elements use while checking on what's wired under my front seats.
Swap power seat into manual truck

The OEM heat element connectors look like Yazaki YESC based on pigtail and a post on F150forum

Without seeing the specific connector it's impossible to know for sure (and I don't have a Maverick handy to confirm), but it could be a contact sensor to see if the seat belt is fastened. Though on the Maverick, I don't know if the seatbelt is attached to the seat, or the floor. So if it's attached to the floor, then it wouldn't be for that.

It is not uncommon in modern vehicles to make a standard wiring harness that controls about everything. However, that does not mean there are unconnected wires from all sorts of optional powered items to connect with said wiring harness.
