Yes, it is at times a "glaring" problem not to be made "light" of IMHO. However, not a deal breaker by any means!! Enjoy your Mav!!

I have tinted the front windows which does seem to help.

I’ve a lariat and I’m always having trouble seeing the fuel level as it is very hard to see in sunlight. My wife’s limited explorer is same way. I hate the design of the fuel gauge in these upper level vehicles little tiny bars of light grayish white. I much prefer the XLT dash display.

Yes can be hard to see the main display at times due to sunlight - even harder if wearing sunglasses, which I suppose is obvious. Usually I can manage if I turn up the cluster/dash lights brightness all the way.

Never had trouble seeing the fuel level on my Lariat, though.

Unfortunately the main screen just doesn't have that much brightness, so in direct sun it will look washed out.
