I installed a single bike rack with ramp for my Lectric (photos will follow). With the bike mounted and covered, when backing up, the rear sensors go crazy thinking I’m going to hit something. Is there any way to temporarily disable this? I want it to work when there’s nothing on the hitch but not when there’s something there. Thank you Maverickites!

Found the item on my panel in front of me and disabled rear parking assist. Thank you for the help!

Have a 2024 Lariat and have a hitch mounted rack for my E-bike. When I back out of the garage, I get about 1/2 way out with the screaming warnings before it shuts down with a warning on the dash that it was shutting down due to sensors being blocked. Not a fix, but have gotten used to the screaming and it shuts down before it really irritates me.... hahahaha

A possibly better way, as it provides additional notification of stops & turns, is to buy an inexpensive tailgate light bar, and attach it to the bike carrier. When installed, plug it into the trailer wiring, which will automatically turn off the rear parking assist.

Some drivers need as much notification as possible, as they driving around clueless, and may not notice the partially obstructed taillight.

I purchased a Curt system that should be here today and will install and provide pictures of the final result. Now trying to see what to do with the license plate as carrier has ramp attached at rear. With bike covered, can't see lights or plate. Thought of putting plate in rear window but tint and bike cover pretty much make that solution useless. Looking for a solution.
