Hi all,

I live in QC, Canada and here we get two owner's manuals with the purchase of a Ford Maverick. One in french and one in english. I was scrolling through the french manual and noticed something very strange about the oil spec. For the Hybrid, the french manual says to use 0W-20 semi-synthetic oil (synthetic blend). In the english manual, it clearly says Full synthetic oil. Is that a misprint?

Since it's the same specification I'd suspect the proofreader goofed.

Yes, as long as you use 0w-20 and it says "WSS-M2C962-A1" on the back, you're done.
Oh, my bad, this is going to Canada, so I need to say it this way too:
Oui, tant que vous utilisez 0w-20 et qu'il est écrit "WSS-M2C962-A1" au dos, vous avez terminé.

There use to be more "semi-syn" or syn-blends with some GroupII in the base oil, but now I think Motorcraft 0w-20 is all groupIII base oil (maybe a touch of groupiv PAO?).
Specs are really all that matter anyway.

Motorcraft use to make a Synthetic Blend 0w20 oil specifically for the hybrid engines.

I think this was just a copy and paste error from an older manual.
