DIBL, has anyone removed storage pocket first?

I'm going to be installing the modular bed liner when I get my truck, have watched several good videos about it, but I have a question about the side storage pocket. On all the videos I've seen, they do a cutout for the pocket and install the side panel over the existing pocket. It seems to me it'd be a cleaner install to remove the pocket, which has a sort of frame around it, drop in that side panel, and then install the pocket over it. Has anyone done this, it seems to me looking at the videos that it would be possible and preferable, aesthetically. Anybody?

Haven't gotten mine yet, but in looking harder at pics of the DIBL, I'm not certain it's possible. There's a raised area around the perimeter of the cutout that appears to be just enough to stop this from being doable, I'd be concerned it'd end up pressing the liner against the bed too hard, potentially causing a rub issue.

I'm not certain, will take a hard look at it while doing the install, but my truck is 4-5 weeks away from arrival, and I gotta wait on my points to show up for me to order the bed liner. I am still kinda surprised this question hasn't gotten more traction, more folks going to install haven't had the same question?

BTW I did try to contact Ford to ask this question. Waste of effort, couldn't find a soul capable of doing more than reading me the install instructions.
