The issue is/was this:
This dealership provided varying comments to me in the beginning on when I would be getting my hybrid Maverick. Depending who I talked to, it was 6 months delivery up to 18 months. Never any details on terms like "constraints" or "allocation". In fact, they said the opposite (XL should come sooner). A complete lack of sophistication at this dealership. After a year, I engaged Ford Motor Company and their marketing people. After 6 weeks of investigation, they told me that I wasn't getting my Maverick and I would have to reorder the 2025 and start over in the queue. I gave up and bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee. After all of the radio silence from the dealership and Ford Motor company feedback, the Maverick got built. Complete debacle and now I have to decide whether to lose $10K and sell the Jeep. I want to give feedback to the locals in my little town that waited forever and this lousy dealership.
I missed the part where you went out and purchased another vehicle. My bad.

Enjoy the Grand Cherokee. I love the Maverick but you got yourself a nice ride. Look at the 2028s or something when they arrive and the Jeep is out of warranty.

QUESTION: For those that received their hybrids July 2024 or later, how many months did you wait?

I ordered mine in July 2023 (xl) and it is coming in second week of October, 2024. I am pretty pissed off with my dealer and their lack of any follow through. The dealership told me that they have approx 35 on back order from 2023. They have only received a few and most customers are just walking away. Per another dealer in the same state, he thinks that my dealer screwed up on the ordering database in 2023. This other dealer said that hybrid delivery times are only 4 months in 2024 and not anything like a year or more. Then I hear stories that certain dealers have higher priority in the supply chain.

With the 40 or so hybrids on back order at my dealer, only 4-5 have arrived with mine being one of them.

My dealer is small time dealer and not a big city one, so I can see where this build "priority" comment may apply.

I engaged Ford Motor Company where they were trying to increae my priority and their last voicemail to me was that my 2024 vehicle was not going to be built. I just inferred from the voicemail that the 2024 model was not going to be built and that I would have to reorder a 2025 model. Well, it (2024) got built and is being delivered next week.
I waited 7 months and then, when it came in I waited another 11 months for them to address a gas tank recall. I bought another in the meantime and if they would have compensated me I would have taken the repaired one.
