If you have the base non-lux package my question is are you experiencing or have you experienced deep sleep/non start issues that are not related to a defective cable? I have a base Lariat (sadly no more of those ) and have had zero issues so far after 4 months and 1500 miles.

I have the Lux, CP360 & Assist, and mine didn't give a single notice from delivery on 04/29/23 until Labor Day weekend, after I'd been out bathing and detailing it for 3-4 hours. My hunch is the key (in my pocket) being in communication range kept the electronics 'alive' and pulled down the battery.

Since then, it happens a couple times a week, whenever it sits for greater than maybe 12-14 hours. Two weeks ago I connected an intelligent battery charger/tender to the under hood ports until it read FULL on Saturday afternoon. Didn't drive Sunday, had the message on I believe Monday.

This past Sunday, disconnected the battery cable, connected my little battery tester. It indicated 'Good - Recharge', identifying it as an AGM battery. (Not sure if it really is, but that's what it seems to think it is). Indicated total 430 amps...should be 585 CA/470 CCA, and 12.12 volts. Connected the charger, fully charged the battery until FULL.....now reading over 13 volts at either 13.1 or 13.4 volts (it was chilly in the 40s). Cleaned the battery posts, made them nice and shiny. Reconnected the battery cable, performed a BMS reset and obtained the 3 flashes of the battery icon.

Damn if I didn't receive the deep sleep message today, after I didn't leave the house until around noon as I was instructing an online class. (Truck sat since around 5:30 last night, until maybe 12:20 this afternoon, drove to work, and had a message just after 1:00...might have been from before the drive as the cluster didn't fire up getting in the truck until I pressed the start button). I don't think the truck could have pulled in that much juice since Sunday, and it was driven to/from work with a couple of additional stops on Monday. - Going to check the voltage tonight when I get home, maybe charge it and leave the battery cable off overnight, and then check it in the morning before driving to work. If it drops overnight without the cable connected, it's surely the battery. Just inconvenient as that means opening the door using the key, which I'll verify works first.

Battery tester or not, I think it's a bad battery, since it was fine for four months, and the messages have become more frequent.

Now, unless the KIA mirror draws substantial current for the Home-Link transmitter when sitting there, I've added nothing besides that and a dashcam, and the dashcam is only powered when the ignition is on. - Both 12v feeds for the mirror (switched for dimming & un-switched for Home-Link are tapped off the overhead, with the dashcam powered from the same switched feed).

Here's a thought, how many of us with the battery issue tapped that feed in the overhead to power either a dashcam or mirror? Maybe the draw confuses the BMS, as does connecting a light bar to the tail lights based on other owners issues with loosing the driver side brake/turn afterwards. - I've had both prior to Labor Day, but did change the camera to a nicer model with GPS, that probably draws more juice when running.

RE KIA MIRROR May depend on where you got power from. Needs to be from key off = hard off circuit. If power is from source which has the delay off anything pulling current will keep delayed off from happening for the selected time OR until the 12volt battery soc drops to (if I remember correctly) 12.1volts. a long time ago someone posted that they thought the Ford pass possible sleep warning to take several drive cycles to turn off (I don't know, I have had interior lights NOT come on a few times but do not use Ford pass).

Mirror is definitely a true switched supply, following the directions posted by others and tested with a volt-meter to ensure it's truly power off. The same feed powers the dashcam. There is a 2nd non-switched power tap for just the remote on the mirror, which should only pull current when pressing one of the buttons. (I'll disconnect that 2nd feed for testing, not having an immediate use of the home-link feature on the mirror).

Yes, its around 12.1 or 12.2 volts, which equates to either 60% or 80% charge, just forget what my brother mentioned the percentage is that results in sleep mode.

The BMS is wonky as all, that or the charging circuit is. Weds morning, no dash or lights getting in truck, drove to work...cold, so the engine ran a bit more than usual. Maybe 20 minutes after getting to work, Deep-Sleep, remote features disabled.

Leave work to drive home, again no lights, no dash until pressing the start button. Drive home, it's dark and headlight/running lights all on, mirror dimming with rear traffic lights, and the engine runs a bit less not being overnight cold. - Reverse of trip in, same distance and amount of time.

This morning, 14 hours or so later, no messages, everything lights when hopping into the truck to drive to work. The drive home last night wasn't any longer than the drive to work in the morning, and it was in deep sleep when I left to come home, yet it charged fine and had no deep sleep overnight. The BMS system is just plain weird, it seems like if its truly low and goes into deep-sleep it charges the battery, with the battery starting at 100% after being on the charger (or not in deep sleep), it appears to not try to maintain the battery, which just seems odd.

I'm running a pool on whether I get a deep sleep before going home tonight, any takers? :)
