Dealer Sales Manager Claims That He Cannot Assign a Priority Code

As suggested by the ford video guy, I asked my dealer when he placed my Mavericak lariat hybrid rollover order that he give it a priority code 10 or 11. (I have been sitting at priority 2 since May but order still was not filled). His exact words were "It automatically puts priority code 19, there is nothing that can be done about that". Clealy dealers are able to do something about that so how do I educate this guy so they can set my priority code to 10. I realize they may just be saying they cannot but know they can, so I either want to tell him how to do it OR just let him know that I know he is not being truthful with me. Any suggestions?
At least they did get my order placed and ford confirmed the first day the banks were open.

Herein lies the problem with leaving it up to dealers to prioritize rollover orders. There will definitely be new MY23 orders scheduled and delivered ahead of rollover MY23 orders due to dealer incompetence which is rampant.

I agree completely, if it was not for info on this forum that I used to educate my dealer. My dealer would not have known about the private offers for rollover orders, that the order banks were open on the 15th and the constraints that are most likely to hold up orders even though ford sent this info to dealers, they claim they never got it. So I suggested they get on the phone with their regional ford rep and tell him they are not getting info that other dealers are. Their response was "oh those dealers are just trying to get you to buy from them". I replied that all the info I got on this forum from dealers including links to ford.com was just out of the kindness of their hearts, with no strings attached. At least they placed my order and ford confirmed.

My priority code was 19 for a non-roll over 2023 order place on 9/15/22. I place this first order at this small dealer. I asked if they could make it a 10 (they have no remaining unscheduled 2022 orders) and they said OK. So my DORA printout now shows priority 10. My salesman is new to selling cars and didn't know much about, but he asked the sales manager for me and got it done. It doesn't mean much if they give everyone else a 10, but I am guessing they won't unless the customer asks.

When I inquired about bumping up my order from Priority 19 to Priority 10, the sales manager told me that to be fair to those whose '22s did not get built, they were given a Priority 10 but he said he would bump mine up to Priority 11.

He can do it, he is choosing not to. I don't believe someone in that position doesn't know how to change the priority code.

can't change your Priority code for you it's changed by the clerk at the dealership and he's right about the priority 19 code it is set automatically when you place the order 😀

I can see why he would do that. Get his 22 orders done before a 23. However Ford's method of prioritizing 22 orders if they actually have one. Leaves alot being desired.

Guess you did not read the original post, I am not a new order holder, my order was placed October 2022, I am one of the lucky rollover order holders who get a $2750 private offer for waiting a yearso far, but wait the cost of my vehicle went up $2600 so I got paid $150 for waiting a year? Not really becuase I had a private offer for $750 that I will not be able to combine with this new private offer so I am being required to pay $600 more than my origanl order for the exact same truck. So I have seen alot already but I am sure I have not seen it all yet.

He is correct, it automatically defaults to 19. But once he submits the order he can go back in and change it to anything between 10 and 19. Since you are a roll over he should set you to 10 to prioritize your order.

He is either clueless or intentionally messing with you.

I'm not a MY22 rollover. I placed my MY23 order on Friday and it showed priority 19. Today, I requested that they add remote start system since it's a separate package. He sent me a revised Preview Order sheet with the update package and I noticed it's now a Priority 10. I didn't ask for it to be changed. It just is. Guess I should be thankful.
