If it's an ordered vehcile then it should be at MSRP.

If you are buying something off the lot then in So Cal. it can be up to $10k ADM for a Hybrid and $5k for an EcoBoost.
That's a lot more extra years for the Hybrid to benefit from the fuel savings to justify spending an extra $10k... People are crazy. I'd rather buy a used prius or make some serious compromises elsewhere than justify adding $10k to a vehicle - especially considering most people are financing! So it's $10k + the interest. That likely put's it around $12k for those people PLUS the extra interest in the loan originally. You are looking at almost $15k or more over to "save" on fuel. Makes no sense.

So glad I don't live in one of those areas and if I did, I'd be penny pinching to get out (Not that Montana is cheap to live in - but we don't have to deal with inner city crap like that).

I paid $750 less than MSRP and they added a spray in bed liner at no charge.
That's a bummer they wouldn't let you. Dealer gets paid it all back. When I sold Fords for those 23 years everything that was eligible was allowed and sold. Even when I left early 2020 due to a severe Crohn's disease, it was still the same . Only cars that were on the ineligible list were off limits per Ford. My old store did me solid with letting me order my XLT Lux Hybrid at X-Plan (I'm a Mustang Club of America Member). Glad for it as it saves me hundreds on the doc fee alone (PA Doc fee is about $450 😮) by limiting it to $100 flat. Plus basically invoice with X-Plan. I wish other dealers would realize by not accepting these deals, those customers will remember in the future and NOT go back to them.

It's not that big of a difference since the EB models have a markup as well.

Where I am the EB models are $5k markup and the Hybrids are $7500. Difference between the two is $2500 not $10k

I never quoted the difference between the two models. I mentioned the difference with the markups + interest. $7500 is still a lot to justify the savings of a Hybrid. In the other thread where someone ran the numbers I think it took 3 years to pay out for the Hybrid? Something like that. Now add another $7500+ and include the extra interest in that too. And that thread did NOT include interest. At 5% (lower than the current normal rate) that is almost $12k extra (for a 7 year - which is the normal currently). So yes, the $10k mark up that was mentioned will easily put you at $15k over MSRP after it's all said and done with financing. I think the math in that other thread was 20k miles at 6$ a gallon to justify it at MSRP, but adding $10k? Easily another 10k miles. And that fluctuates with the price of gas - so if gas is cheaper, like $4 a gallon, then it would take longer to justify the price. But at MSRP for all cash buyers it definitely makes sense after 2-3 years (depending on how much you drive - which is another factor in the timeline). Anyways... Lots of variables.

Either way, it's a lot extra + interest. I can't say I'd be interested to pay that along with the current rates. I already feel like MSRP is overpriced lol.

Here is the thread FWIW:

I saw a '23 Alto Blue Lariat at the Ford dealer just down the street from me. Looks identical to mine, except it has a few less options. Apparently, the person who ordered it didn't take delivery and the dealer (Parrish Ford) added a $7,500 market adjustment. Glad I didn't order from them! I hope it languishes there until they reduce the asking price.
