I just received my VIN number, build date and ETA: build date - week of October 3, delivery date of mid November. What is curious is the timing. The status date/time was August 17th, but was notified by the dealer this morning as a response to my email concerning the rollover to a 2023 model.

Questions: When do dealers receive an update on their orders from Ford ? Shouldn't I have been notified soon after August 17th ? What caused the gap of receiving my VIN and build date from August 17th to September 2nd?

As a conspiracy theorist, I would propose they weren't going to tell you and sell your truck for a profit.! :cautious:

In actuality, they probably don't have someone dedicated to communicating with customers on order status or they only do so on a schedule.

I have a build date of Sep 26th. Never received an email from Ford. And I was the one that told my dealer I have a build date. Ford communication has a lot to be desired.

One would think a sales manager (who this was from) would be checking on ALL pending orders in a more timely manor and TALK TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. It's called Customer Service. As for selling this at a mondo dealer mark-up, I'm beginning to wonder myself. I'm considering pulling this order and moving it to another dealership. A couple have offered to take over this order.

Sadly, the couple won't be able to "take over" your order. You and the dealer are the only ones who can "claim" that order. If you "cancel" the order it'll still be produced and then it goes to dealer stock for whatever markup they wish. The only way the couple can get it is to give you the money to buy it with and then transfer the title to them. That, of course, depends on how well acquainted y'all are.
