My Maverick has been at the dealership waiting on a wiring harness since the end of May. It took the dealership mechanics about one week to figure out that was the problem- they reached out to other mechanics who told them what to look for after they couldn't locate the problem. The dealership immediately ordered the part but it was and still is unavailable. After 1 week I was lucky enough to get a rental from the dealership so that is something. But after waiting patiently for all of these weeks I am starting to get mad. Ford is not communicating with the dealership as to if/when the part is expected to go into production and so they are unable to provide me with any updates. I am stuck in limbo and not sure what to do. I loved driving my Maverick so best option is to get it back but am wondering if it's worth an uncertain wait? I have not reached out to Ford Corporation because if they aren't organized and competent enough to communicate with their dealerships, I doubt I will have any luck. Should I find an attorney and enact the lemon law? I've never had these kind of issues before- my last car was 13 years old and had 220,000 miles on it and besides replacing breaks and tires and the like never had any major issues.

My Maverick was ordered sometime end of June last year, built in October or November (can't really remember) and delivered in January. Had a little over 6000 miles on it when it died.

I'd be grateful for advice

Did you try to jump start it at the battery or the jump start terminals under the hood?

Assuming the part ordered is the positive wiring harness from the battery it's not a major issue, frustrating though. I don't think it would be worth the grief going the lawyer route.

Perhaps the dealership would repair the existing harness, as others have posted their dealers did. to avoid the wait for the part.

Cheers.

At a minimum I would submit a complaint with the NHTSA. The more folks who document this hybrid wiring harness failure with the NHTSA, the higher the likelihood Ford will issue a recall and will become a higher priority for them. This is my personal opinion...
