I did a search first, but couldn't find what I was after initially. (Lots of discussion of 'phone mounts for the cubby' on <2025 models, but not relevant for me.)

I intend to run Forscan Lite on an old Android phone to display some gauges that the Mav is lacking, and want something that I can suction to the dash (and mostly leave it there). My concern is that the dash may be too textured for a suction mount to work well (i can't stand suction mounts falling off and then having the phone rolling around on the dash and onto the floor, or hanging by charge cable when I go around a corner..)

I do not want it on the window, I regularly use sun-screens in the windshield and don't want to install/remove a suction mount every day.

Dash would be best, I'm not super keen on the 'vent mounts'.

Any ideas?

I'm currently eyeing this one on Amaz: Vanmass

Again, my main concern being, how well does a suction mount really hold on the somewhat textured dash?

Make sure to clean the dash very good before use that phone holder, otherwise the suction will fail.

Thanks.
I'm rolling the dice on the Vanmass i linked. I'll update here after I get it and can spend some time with it.
If the dash suction doesn't do it, it will also attach to a vent, so at least it offers an alternative.

IIRC the tray behind the screen doesn't have texture on the bottom, try sticking the suction cup there for a better hold? Or maybe the back side of the screen

EDIT: went to the truck to check today, the tray has even MORE texture than the dashboard 😄 and the back of the screen is too small for a suction cup

I have one of those and it sticks on Mavekck dash pretty good, vs onto my other car it won't. Just clean the dash first.

I have the exact one in my Jeep Wrangler. But it is attached to the windshield and is holding up extremely well. The only negative thing about this one is that the phone starts to shake. But then the Jeep rides pretty rough as well. Otherwise very easy to use and to put the phone in and out.
