Soon I will be adding a performance exhaust made from T304 stainless tubing. What should I use to make the cuts? Sawzall with bimetal 18 tooth, 24 tooth blade or chain cutter. That is what is in my tool box. I'm a DIYer.

If you have cut SS exhaust pipes before and want to share your experience, please post and assist me to make the job easier.

I used a chop saw when I cut 304 SS for my twin turbo down pipes on my Mustang, worked good better then using a sawzall as the cut were more even.
Just need to make sure you keep even steady pressure and try not to power through the cuts.

If you are set on using a Sawzall use a carbide tooth blade. Stainless is mean. Lenox and Diablo blades are meaner.

Ideally, you’ll want to use a wet saw with a toothed blade to get nice, square non discolored cuts. If you intended to attach bends to each other, have some respect for the material and TIG weld it with stainless filler rod.

Cutting Stainless with a sawzall sucks, cutoff wheel is the way to go. In either case, keep it cool and have plenty of extras blades or discs.
