They do have coated rotors on the truck. Most vehicles do.
Coated for shipping, not for longevity…that coat is long gone the first time you use the brakes…. Just let any vehicle sit for a few days and get exposed to any moisture in the air and aside from something with high end rotors made out of carbon and they will start rusting

They have a Geomet coating baked into them. The only surface that should rust anytime soon is the actually surface the pads rub on.

Please explain. Let any disc brake sit for several days and rust develops. Thanks.
This is just explanation.

The specially formulated polymer coating is applied to the entire rotor offering total protection for optimal performance and longer life.

Tested to withstand 400+ hours of salt spray (equivalent to 18 southern Michigan winter months), coated brake rotors edges and vanes stay cleaner longer, optimizing air flow and performance. Special polymer coating also keeps rust from forming along the outer edges of the pad swept area to prevent edge-lift. It is important to note that the coating itself is designed to be worn away in certain areas. Wherever the brake pad sweeps the rotor area, the coating will be removed by the normal operation of the disc brake system. The coating that remains will continue to protect the hub, vanes (on vented discs), and rotor edges.

So after almost 10 months I figured I'd have a truck that was 100%. I had to imagine that Ford did whatever it takes to get trucks out for 2022 and by "whatever it takes" I was hoping it wasn't literally. I wanted to change my wheels out. And low and behold, corners were cut, well not corners but my spindles. Tops trimmed to mount the shocks and as you can see the really hacked the area to mount the tie-rod. Not real happy with my first ever Ford. Has anyone else had this issue? XL Hybrid 230 miles. Who can I contact at Ford? Dealer is aware of my issue.

All I see is a little surface rust. Nothing to worry about in my opinion.

I over exaggerated. Not that it matters much to me anymore. Trucks for sale.

Sorry you're not happy with your Maverick. I'm looking forward to getting mine. My old 2002 Explorer is having issues so a new truck is going to be nice.

Now I can count today as a win, since I learned something new. Appreciate the great and informative explanation!
