Just got this message from My dealer, but, no idea if this is legit or a weird thing to receive… any thoughts?

Good Morning,
I am reaching out in regards to your Maverick order.

Currently your Maverick is unscheduled.

Once I receive information on a build date and a VIN# being assigned I will update you.

Thank you for your patience.

You are also going to receive an auto email stating that your order was just placed.

Not to worry your order was already placed and confirmed it is just an email triggered because I am cleaning up the CRM System.

If you have any questions I am here to help.

Thank you and Have a Great Day. “””

Sounds like not much to worry about. CRM most likely stands for Customer Relations Management which is likely a software program they use to contact and manage customer relations. i.e. emails and other communications.

If I had to guess your dealer sent this out as a notice to current customers to not be concerned if they get an email that seems contradictory to the emails they have already received regarding their orders.

Right, but, the original line was “you’ll know before us” and now it’s “we’ll let you know”. Just seems like a flip to what was standard, unless this is a result of ford updating the priorities?

Sorry, no, wasn’t included. When I first ordered the truck the message from the dealer was “ you’ll get an email with build confirmation before we know” - and I thought that was reflective of other peoples’ experiences as well.

This email from the dealer (after 4 months of no contact) just caught me off guard and I didn’t know if other people had seen anything similar

It depends on when they check! Ford usually will send scheduling email, the dealer may or may not have already checked to see what vehicles have scheduled by the time Ford sends you an email.
