Hello everyone,
I picked up my Mav back in February and have slowly been adding things over the last few months. Gonna use this thread to document everything I've done so far and any upcoming mods!

2024 Maverick XLT Lux BAP with co-pilot 360.
First thing I did was window tint - a necessity here in Texas. 15% on the front windows, 5% on the rears. All ceramic. Plan on doing the windshield in a couple of weeks, just to get ceramic all the way around.

Up next is the sound system. This was pieced together over a few months, and is sorely needed - the stock stereo in this thing is terrible.

Within a week or two, I upgraded the door speakers and tweeters with Focal RSE-165 from Crutchfield. Highly recommend ordering from Crutchfield; speakers came with the factory harness adapters and the mounting plate, so everything was completely plug-and-play.
Ford Maverick Creepshow's Build 1719153972230-sz

The tweeters were kind of a pain in the ass. The harness adapter from crutchfield wasn't the right one (not sure if they just sent the wrong one, or if their info is bad). But I was able to snip the harness and wire it to the tweeters. The tweeters were slightly bigger than the stock ones, so I had to use a dremel with a 90° attachment to widen the opening by a few mm. Doesn't look pretty, but they're underneath the cover anyway so whatever!

For reference, here's the difference between the stock door speakers and the Focals I installed:

I knew the next step was subwoofer, so I needed a Line Output Converter. Looked heavily at the LC2i, but ultimately ended up going with a DSP - the Puzu PZ-C7. I was a little weary at first because I couldn't find a ton of info on it, but a couple people here vouched for it so I pulled the trigger and it's been great so far. Not only does this give you a signal for an amplifier/subwoofer, it also gives you a ton of control over all the channels, and it even provides a little extra power to the new Focals.

Installing the Puzu was a dream. If you enter the make/model info when you order, they include a wire harness splitter that plugs directly into the factory harness, located right behind the HVAC controls, which is just held on by a few clips
Ford Maverick Creepshow's Build 1719154544335-uq

So unplug the factory harness, plug in the Puzu, then plug the factory harness plug into the splitter

Also in that picture you can see the RCAs for my in-line bass knob. that I mounted underneath. (Also shout-out Motorola MA1 wireless Android Auto adapter)

For now, the Puzu is just sitting in my glove box, but whenever I feel motivated enough, I'll do a permanent mount behind the glove box. The software for the Puzu is a little daunting, but very helpful once you figure it out. There's also an app that connects via bluetooth, but the laptop version of the software has more features and is easier to use than the app. I ended up turning down the rear speakers by about 50% - they're not very good and to me, they weren't really worth upgrading. I've read multiple accounts and it sounds like they're a huge pain in the ass to get to.

After that, amp and subs were pretty straightforward. Picked up a Skar RP1200.1 and 2 Skar VD-10s (4 ohm, wired to 1 ohm) in Groundshaker boxes. Mounted the amp on a small piece of MDF mounted behind the seat.

Word of advice for anyone looking at the GroundShaker boxes: The boxes are great, but the pricing is a little wonky - $230 for one or $310 for both. So if you only want one (or have the hybrid and can only use one), I'd recommend buying both anyway then selling the other for like $150. Then you both get a deal!

Almost forgot I added a Tyger T1 Tonneau Cover at some point too. This picture was taken immediately after it was installed, those little wrinkles flattened out within a couple of days. Super happy with this for the price.

More small things added:
Added these black lug nuts. Didn't like the chrome lugs breaking up the BAP, plus I've heard bad things about Ford's lug nuts for years (swelling and de-laminating). Here's a quick side-by-side - front tire is factory lugs, rear tire is the new black lugs.

Also, finally got around to adding tailgate assist. There's guides/reviews to these things everywhere, but installation was super simple and only took about 10 mins. The hardest part was removing the bottle opener, as the top bolt is covered by the drop-in bedliner, so I had to pull it up while trying to fit my wrench under it.

Some more minor interior stuff:
Probably my smallest "mod" but one of my favorite additions - This USB-C LED plugged into my phone charger for ambient lighting. Eventually, I plan on adding LED strips ambient lighting in the footwells, but in the meantime, this works great for how simple it is. Adjustable color and brightness.
Ford Maverick Creepshow's Build 1720201711914-gz

And one of the first things I purchased was a dash cam (another necessity when driving in Dallas). I went with this REDTIGER dash cam (actually bought one for my wife's car as well). Also picked up this 3M adhesive mount, as suction cups don't tend to hold up in the Texas heat. Grabbed the hardwire kit to keep everything clean and tucked away.

I see lots of questions about hardwiring dash cams, so I'll try to answer some here. Running the wire is simple, down the passenger side A-pillar and behind the glove box to the interior fuse box. You will also need these Micro3 fuse taps, as most kits will come with standard 2 pin fuses, but the Maverick uses 3 pin micro fuses. I just cut off the provided 2-pin fuse taps and spliced in the correct ones.

Here's a closer look at the fuses that I used:

Pretty self-explanatory (but I'll explain anyway)
  • 12V/Battery - Also sometimes labeled MEM/Memory, etc. This is connected directly to the battery and is a constant source of power
  • Accessory/Ignition - This only receives power when the ignition is turned on.
  • Ground - Ground.

Here's some sample videos from the dash cam showcasing some typical DFW drivers:
-This one here taken in the early morning shows the low-light capabilities of the cam.
-And this one here is broad day, typical driving conditions. (the subtle shaking is from the subwoofers)

If you want to replace the tailgate tie down bracket that had to be removed to fit the assist strut, I've made a few that I'm selling.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum.

When you're old and hard of hearing like I am, the stock radio is just fine.
