I had one before I hit 1k miles. cost me 500 to replace. Satellite wanted 800 and sensor calibration?!?!?!?! Installation guy told me that you dont have 2 calibrate anything if you replace 1 factory for another. they dont do it at that truck manufacture. why should you do it again?!?!?! ask Ford dealership who replaces glass at there location and its defiantly not ford.

My windshield guy told me as soon as you get a hit with rock, place tape over the area. It is the wind that gets into the glass that mostly causes it to start running. I did it and it worked for a week through the Arizona heat of 110.

Got my new windshield this week. Cost me $500 and my insurance company paid the rest. This included recalibration, which took him 10 minutes. The whole process only took a little over a hour. They changed it right in my driveway.

Got a rock chip last month at the top of glass in the black area. Didn't crack by the time I got home. Thought I was lucky. The next morning it had cooled overnight, and it cracked about 18 inches down and across. I have 250.00 comprehensive deductible on my insurance policy with State Farm. They arranged for Safelite to come to my house the next week 8am-12pm window. They showed up at 8:20am, had new windshield in place, took my 250.00 and hauled off the cracked one all done in 2 hours. So far all is good a month later.

This is why we pay a little more for "Full Glass Coverage" ($50-$75/Yr., with no Detuctable) on our cars here in AZ. We crack & replace a windshield about every 12-18 months from rock impacts on one of our two sedans. I'll get the same coverage for our new XLT also.

My State Farm comprehensive comes with $100 glass replacement coverage. Had to have mine replaced last year
