Soundscreen windshield - My wife never uses my truck ...

My wife never uses my truck. However her SUV was at the dealer for service and she had to use my little MAV XLT EB for a couple of hours. I was watching tv when suddenly I received a text... "the windshield got broken..." from there I spitted out all of my favorite cold beverage and starting to think how much I would be asking for if I was to sell my truck lol!

Per my wife a big truck hit a big rock with the tires and the rock was triggered as a rocket to the windshield of my Mav. From there I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade the windshield for the one that comes with the Lariat ("sound-screen") I just got the truck back from dealer today.

I think I can say the sound-screen windshield isolates the outside noise noticeable better than the original XLT windshield. I think you will notice the improvement, I paid 20% of the total repair cost (labor&material) so to me it was a good deal

They must have different models of the Soundscreen windshield.

There's no line for the heated wiper park like mine has, and that everyone thinks is a crack when they see it.

SoundScreen is separate from the heated wiper park/wiper de-icer. Lariat gets SoundScreen, Luxury Packs get the de-icer. 4 total variants of the glass iirc.

you know I think it has improved with both adds , the acoustic windshield + black noise isolation foams that go in between the doors and the engine bay. I was afraid that the falken wildpeak trails would add noise but they did not. Regards!

What are the 4 variants?

1) XL and XLT basic front automotive glass.
2) XLT with Lux, basic automotive glass, with heated wiper park.
3) Lariat with acoustic glass,
4) Lariat with Lux, acoustic glass with heated wiper park.

Yup - Just drove 85 mph for 289 miles from Southern to Northern Utah - Even with AT tires and a lift can't believe how quiet this truck is. Thank you Sound Glass or whatever - lol

I have an XLT without sound screen and it's very quiet. Have ridden in a Lariat and can't notice any difference. According to my guy who is a glass professional, it's kind of a gimmicky sales thing. If I ever get a broken windshield I'll try and get the sounds screen as a replacement and see if it really makes a difference.
