I wouldn't be surprised if the Maverick has some tailgate trickery up its sleeve, such as a tailgate extender when the gate is in the down position. That could extend the useful surface in a folded-down position from ~60" to ~78".
I agree to that idea! I use my tailgate to saw lumber. I hope it is wide enough for a sheet of plywood as well.

I'd be shocked if this was true. You can tell the top portion of the bed bulkhead is angled, which is also why there is a top and bottom bed length

One of the lead designers on HSC confirmed in a recent TFL Truck video that they will have a sliding rear glass similar to other trucks, and not a roll-down glass like 4Runner.

I believe they said the rear window will be a slide down in the final version of the Santa Cruz kind of like the 4Runner has. Thats a ridiculously cool feature I wish the Maverick had but i think itll just have the tiny and mostly useless sliding piece.
My '03 Ford Sport Trac has a power window at the back that goes down an inch to vent or all the way down at the touch of a button.

Really like the idea of a smaller PU, wish an extended cab version would be in the product mix. A little less cab and a bit more bed would make for a practical option. Room for 4 on short hops, and room for 2 plus secure storage for luggage/tools/gear on longer trips with more space for load/toys/tools in bed. Like, and currently use the DiamondBack heavy-duty hard tonneau cover, which allows easy removal/reattachment when I need to load my motorcycle. Can see this or a bed cap as being useful for someone who wants to use the Maverick for business purposes.

Currently have a 2017 Ridgeline that I use to carry a 450 pound motorcycle loaded in the bed. The rear wheel sits on the tailgate, but fabricated a plate that extends between the end of he bed and trailer hitch mount that carries the load rather than the tailgate. Would be interested to see if the Maverick bed/tailgate length would be long enough to allow me to do the same. Might need some additional/optional suspension mods to assist in handling that much load hanging out the rear. Honda does OK with the load, but would add a load assist option if a practical/affordable choice was available.

It would be a little more challenging to tie down, but might you not fit the bike in the bed and even be able to put up the tailgate if you put it in diagonally (catty-corner) in the bed?

I would guess 54 long. (Box Opening at top) Bigger than the Santa Cruz (48”) slightly worse than Ranger (58”) and Ridgeline (59”)

width ~54” (~42” between the wheels)

height ~14”

the bed appears to be just under 2 tires long. And it looks like it has the same tire options as the Bronco sport (28.5” diameter) that makes the bed right around my 54” guesstimation

52-54 in seems extremely likely from the pictures we've seen. I'd guess 54 just so they can say 4.5 ft bed and keep it consistent with the short beds being: Maverick: 4.5 ft, Ranger: 5 ft, F150: 5.5 ft.
Is that inside the bed"52-54"? also do you know the overall truck length bumper to bumper?

bed top opening 52-54” so inside might be closer to 54-56”
And over all length is around 195”
Wheel base around 114”

We’ll know for sure on Tuesday but my guesses are 200” overall length and 123.7 wheelbase. I’m going with 54” long bed, 51.5” wide and 41.5 between the wheel wells
