My Ford has been frosted these past few mornings in Boise, Idaho with nighttime lows in the teens and highs in the mid 30's. I'm have just under 500 miles on my Cactus Gray baby and am getting about 38 mpg. I figure the cold weather has the heater running more and hence I've not seen that 40+mpg people report just yet.

Exactly. You figured it our real quick. My Maverick is my third hybrid and this is what happens during cold weather. It's worth it to keep warm.

And let's not forget about very, very hilly driving conditions😁! I wonder if the Tesla owner who flew by me today doing 85+ mph (and 10+ mph over the speed limit) with a temp of 50 deg f. learned they don't have a Maverick hybrid's gasoline engine to use as back up when the battery is running low on juice? I later passed them about 30 miles down the highway doing about 65 mph (and 10 mph under the speed limit) in a very hilly (mostly uphill😆) section of expressway in the country with no Tesla charging station within a 70 mile radius! Most amusing!😂
