The Escape Hybrid I had would constantly kick on the ICE just to maintain temperature threshold. I hated it. Only reason I never got above a 40MPG average was that right there. Also the battery was clearly suffering in the cold too. That's a mouthful. I can't speak to the EcoBoost but I can tell you that my hybird is nothing like warm during my commute. I have noticed that if I leave the city streets and get on the highway than its closer to but not like what I would expect or had seen during warmer months. Glad I opted for the block heater.
No recall work as of yet. Took delivery in September.
AS for the EB, 3 bars isn't bad. That's not running cold at all. You got heat so that's a good sign. What are the commutes like? Keep in mind that bar is not the same as an actual temperature reading. You could be 1 degree less than what the 4th bar is lol.Yes, it is an ecoboost.
It does blow heat when it’s cold out thankfully.
Recent services, yes. Dealership services, no.
Not my first vehicle, but first with the little blocks for temperature instead of a needle gauge. Maybe none of my other vehicles got up to temperature but I never noticed because the needle looked close enough?
I just wasn’t sure if it was normal for these little 4 cylinders to not get up to full temperature. Im not surprised when really cold out but even just at freezing temp it doesn’t reach 4 bars.
