I realize that some people don’t like a non functioning hood scoop. I purchased for ascetic's. I purchased a hood scoop off a fellow Maverick member on here.
After I received it I was worried about the Matte finish holding up. I did like the fact that it was black to go with all the other black on the truck. Also worried about bird droppings that land on it. Would it stain the matte finish? Also UV protection?
So I cleared it with Gloss DuPont Chroma Clear coat.
Laid down 4 coats. Cut it with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit. Than polished it and mounted it.
I like the hood with it versus without. And I have a lot more protection on the hood scoop also.

Nice and very slick. Good cut and buff job. I like that style of hood protector. Have you considered clear coating it also?

Thanks for the compliment. Not the hood protector. It will take a beating. Plus the scoop wasn’ on the truck. A lot less masking.

It was available for the first 6 months of the 2022 Maverick from Ford and than discontinued. I don’t recall the name. Maybe Lund. I have had installed about 9 months now.

In general I am not a fan or non functional parts but I think that this mod looks really good. Nice job. Well done.

I also like the fender flares.

I believe Air Design makes it for Ford. It’s the only hood scoop for the Ford Maverick.
Can be purchased at a number of companies, including Ford.
