I realize that some people don’t like a non functioning hood scoop. I purchased for ascetic's. I purchased a hood scoop off a fellow Maverick member on here.
After I received it I was worried about the Matte finish holding up. I did like the fact that it was black to go with all the other black on the truck. Also worried about bird droppings that land on it. Would it stain the matte finish? Also UV protection?
So I cleared it with Gloss DuPont Chroma Clear coat.
Laid down 4 coats. Cut it with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit. Than polished it and mounted it.
I like the hood with it versus without. And I have a lot more protection on the hood scoop also.
