Crystal clear widow cleaning hack or a big mistake?

My wife used some kind of rust remover stuff that took the chrome off of the sink stoppers. You don't want to use that.

Sprayway glass cleaner, Zep foaming glass cleaner or if I run out of those, Invisible Glass as third choice.
Sprayway has a very high percentage of alcohol so it cuts right through any grunge or haze and leaves the car smelling better than the other two.

Sprayway is great stuff, I never used it in my car because I thought the label said something about not coming in contact with plastics, but must've been another product because I just read the can and didn't see a warning, just not to use on non-glass TV screens.. now I wish I could remember which glass cleaner that was..
