AMEN!Can't see my dirty bed with the cover on!!!
Yeah, when I get my forever Maverick I won't care. The "imperfections" are just signs that I'm doing cool truck stuff.I get that more than a few people are legitimately bothered by imperfections. May I suggest buying or fabricating a bed mat? That way you can take it out when you carry something nasty. Seems crazy to have SIBL and a bed mat - but it would permanently solve this problem. Your bed would always be pristine (at least the floor).
I think fabricating a bed mat is dirt cheap. And the materials are endless. Lots of threads here on the subject.
Truth!AMEN!
That's a great idea! I just need it to look good for resale. If cleaning it won’t work (and I’d be careful of using the brush) you might go another route and use some tire black or even black spray paint to just cover the spots. If you use paint, I would do it lightly and widely so it’s not so obvious.
Dear God. A wire brush? Really? It might work just fine for all I know, but that sounds really harsh.Try ... and maybe a wire brush.
I have a bed mat over the SIBL and, if nothing else, it's easier on my knees.Seems crazy to have SIBL and a bed mat - but it would permanently solve this problem. Your bed would always be pristine (at least the floor).
I wouldn’t suggest anything I haven’t tried myself.Dear God. A wire brush? Really? It might work just fine for all I know, but that sounds really harsh.
I more or less agree, but on a different truck in a different space/time continuum, I bought a scoop of topsoil then didn't empty it out for a week, and the SIBL forever after had a very annoying little white line where the top of the dirt had been. I don't understand the chemical analysis of either topsoil or Line-X, but something wasn't compatible and the "High-Tide" line became a permanent part of my truck bed.I'm a pretty clean person, and pride myself on not having water spots... but the bed liner is not one of those places.
Ooh, I'll check that out.Clean the best you can and then use "Back to Black" I have used this for years and will on my Mav when I pick it up.
Interesting. It's on the list to try now.I think LineX recommended Simple Green.
Wd40...hadn't thought of that.If read correctly, you have the black spray in bedliner. It is very durable and solvents don't phase it. The exception might be acetone. Sounds like you have paint spots from sliding painted lumber. I soak spots in WD40, then use a stiff brush. If worst comes to terrible, you can use black semi-gloss spray paint to cosmetically repair it when it comes time to sell. But it is a truck and people expect some signs of use. I hauled an old water heater to the recycle yard and used CLR to get the rust off my SIBL. It was not as shiney as the surrounding area but spray paint did the trick. I have also put a piece of plywood down to protect my bed from nails, etc.
Not yet, but it's on the list after a couple of the other suggestions.Did you try pressure washing it?
OH NO! Is it still there? You may want to try something like 303. Spray it on a wet bed (giggity) and scrub off with a medium bristle brush. I'm assuming you'd done your fair share of trying already though. Good point though... some earth materials will leave permanent stains when a tarp is not used. If anything, you could just buy some rattle can bed liner and spray a light coat over the top. I'd even try a rubbing alcohol compound in a small area and scrub with that before I resprayed though.I more or less agree, but on a different truck in a different space/time continuum, I bought a scoop of topsoil then didn't empty it out for a week, and the SIBL forever after had a very annoying little white line where the top of the dirt had been.
