They shouldn't need to remove the diff but just a heads up in case they really want to. It won't come off without removing the transmission or cutting some castings off the engine block. When you unbolt it to find that out the transmission fluid starts pouring out and there's a conical seal in there that you have to try and get back in place with like a 1 inch opening to work with.I don't know why he'd need to drop the diff though. more to come as this unfolds!
