Anyone installed a child car seat in a Maverick. I’ve located the anchor points but how do you fasten the rear anchor and tighten it up?

I just installed mine a couple days ago on the passenger side.

First do the top/rear latch, then the side latches last.
I had to move the top/rear buckle as far to the end as possible (making it as long as possible, but with no length on the 'grab and pull' side).
Pull the seat forward and feed it through the headrest and latch it.
Grab the 'pull' side and pull as far as you can, pushing the rear bench back until it is almost ready to latch. It's a give a take game here until you've pulled the belt as tight as you can and the seat back is almost latched.
Tuck the excess belt behind the seat and then latch the seat back in place.
Do the lowers latches next and you are done!

Yes, it is a bit looser than on a sedan or hatchback or suv where the the rear latch is easily accessible. But the position of the entire seat and the fact that it IS latched will prevent any major movement in the case of an accident.

Safe travels!

From the video it seems like the upper latch needs to be higher by six or seven inches so you can make it as tight as possible

I've had to install (and re-install) a few different car seats in mine since I got it. I took the headrest off (for a forward facing seat) and then start with the top tether. Removing the headrest might help you tightening the top latch point as well.

Both car seats I've used, I could shut the rear seatback before completely tightening the top tether.

From there, everything else is the same as any other car using either the LATCH points or a seatbelt. I put my weight into the seat with my knee and then tighten everything up.

The seat barely moves and is definitely under the max allowed movement (1 inch in any direction). Pretty much the same as any other vehicle I've installed car seats in.

Just need to reverse it if you ever need to remove it. Disconnect the LATCH anchors or remove the seatbelt and awkwardly shift the car seat forward to open the rear seatback and loosen the top tether to the point you can disconnect it.

It's not too bad, just plan out some time to make sure you get it right.

i have a rear facing car seat so the bottom latches are what I used to secure the base onto the seat. It doesn't help when I got tendinitis on both of my wrists.

I have 2 car seats. It's hell to try to do this. This a bad design. Other trucks from Ford have system where the top tether is routed to the middle top allowing for reasonable install. The maverick is a shamefully bad system.

I have 3 across the back and it is a little bit of a pain, but not that bad to do.
