I ordered an XLT 2.0T about 2 weeks ago from my dealer who I have purchased from before. I still haven't gotten a confirmation email. A few days ago I asked him why I haven't seen anything yet and he said he didn't add my email to the order but he would add it so I would get updates. I still haven't gotten anything from Ford. Should I be worried or is this normal?

It took me at least 3 weeks before i got a confirmation for my order however i would stay on top of it. I'd give it another week or two hopefully you'll get an email from Ford also I'd check your spam mail just incase

That was kind of crappy of him not to add your email. I would ask him to add it so you can get future updates. Just for reference I got my order confirmation email about 15 minutes after leaving the dealer.

If you are really concerned you can call Fords customer service number and check with them to see if everything is up to snuff. If you do this you will need your order code and sales code from your DORA.

He did add it after I called him. He told me it could be a few weeks so i'll keep my eye on it.

For the record, getting any info out of my dealer has been an ongoing task which would strain the abilities of Hercules.

Eventually, after several months, called the toll-free Ford number to achieve peace of mind that my order really is marinating in the system and they provided me the order number, dealer number and priority code over the phone. Had none of those when placed the call. Also confirmed that a correct e-mail address is in their possession, although outside of the initial "thanks for your reservation" message still have yet to receive any other e-mails from Ford. This includes radio silence about the FITSmas present pack.

Wait time on the phone less than five minutes, but your mileage may vary on that.

That sounds about right. If you read through the confirmation email that Ford sent you will see that down toward the bottom of the email when and what Ford will contact you about.

Honestly if you never received a confirmation email from Ford then your dealer screwed up or intentionally chose not to include you.

If your dealer did it right you should at least receive these four basic emails from Ford.

1. Confirmation email
2. Scheduled for Production email
3. Built email
4. Shipped email

When I say "they" provided me with the data over the phone, I mean Ford did, not the dealer. So, at least in my experience, it is not a requirement to have an order number and a dealer number prior to calling Ford.

I never got an email. I got a DORA from the dealer. Called Ford and didn't have the sales code but they were able to look it up for me. My order was received. They said there were some issues with some people not getting email confirmations. I have a feeling I won't get an email when it goes into production.

Yes, No it isn't but does help to expedite Ford finding your order

Prezactly. Primary reason I put off calling Ford until months after the initial order is because of numerous comments herein saying one MUST have those numbers beforehand, which is not the case.

So when you called what did you say? The only reason I ask is because this might help others who search and find this thread.

I only called once a few months back. After waiting on hold for around 15 minutes when the woman on the other end connected she went through her canned formal greeting then immediately asked me for my name, sales code, and order number.

Did you not get the same?

The rundown.

1) Dialed toll-free number, got a general service operator who asked which model vehicle I was calling about, then connected me to a Maverick person. Put on hold for a very short interval before someone picked up.
2) Explained to her that I was concerned about hearing naught but crickets and wanted to check if I was confirmed in the system as my dealer has been less than forthcoming.
3) Gave her the model (trim), that it is a hybrid, the date reservation was made, and my full name as it appears on the initial reservation.
4) She asked for my address as additional confirmation.
5) Received the info I was after (dealer #, order #) from her lickety-split.
6) Asked to confirm that my e-mail address was in the system and has been entered correctly.
