Check Engine Light Came on/off - Code U3012

I have a XLT hybrid, probably one of earlier builds VIN ~5000 with about 7500 miles.

Today the check engine light came on. I've read about the the dead hybrid issue so I have a scan gauge
hooked up, monitoring the 12v voltage. Voltage is charging normally 14+ volts. I read the code
and there was only one code - U3012.

I didn't want to mess with it so I took it to the dealer. By the time I got the dealer, I've restarted 3-4 times
and by the time advisor started the CEL went away. Advisor asked if I received notification on my ford pass app,
sure enough there was one. He was able to look on his system to see the reported fault.
He said the fault is a communication error between modules at start up. Not a system fault so shouldn't affect operation.
Since CEL went off, he advise to just drive it and bring it back if reoccurs.

In other threads about dead hybrid issue, code U3012 was one of the code that was read but there where
many others codes. Not sure if this is precursor to other issues?

Any one experience this?

Had the same code come up yesterday with no drive ability issue. My Mav has had the total dead issue fixed.

I've had a check engine light on 3 occasions. 1st and 2nd time on a round trip from Ohio to DC and 3rd on a trip home from Pittsburgh to Ohio. All 3 indicated an engine fault of some kind and the first two briefly mentioned emissions. They all went away and no drivability issues took place. These 3 times were each on a trip that is more than my normal driving and hills were involved. It obviously shouldn't be happening on a new truck but at least they went away. My dealer can't get me in for service (10,000 miles) or recall until October 20th, so I have no information other than that. Also XLT Hybrid here.

For what it's worth, my Maverick just died today. Not sure if this CEL episode was a foreshadow of the cable of death. The truck drove fine, I turned off, on next restart .... nothing, everything dark. Suspecting the cable, I pushed on the cable to give it some pressure and the truck started to make some noise, I held the cable and had someone else start the car. Drove it straight to the dealer.
