FYI for everyone. I got a price offer of about 30k from Carvana for my Eco XL AWD almost 2 weeks ago after finding out I'm going to get a company vehicle to use. I submitted everything to them and I'm still waiting for them to schedule a pickup at which time they said they will issue me a check. Not sure if something is going on based around their financial issues but I have spent hours on hold with them trying to get clarification.

I've sold 2 cars to Carvana, one last month. Both transactions were quick and very easy and they came out to my house.

I've heard some sketchy stories about Carvana not handling title transfers properly, probably more of a buyers concern, but Carmax seems like they have it all together.
What Carvana does in at least some states is that when they buy a vehicle from you, they transfer the title to their dealer license in Arizona (where their HQ is located). In my case, I don't believe the vehicle ever actually went to Arizona. Further, it was sold to someone in Kentucky, which is not where I had it registered. That means they had to manage the title (potentially paper copies along the way) with a vehicle that crossed state lines and was registered to them in a state where it never went.

No wonder they have so many issues with failing to apply for titles for vehicles they sell.

One would hope that Carmax, a more established business that operates traditional used car lots across the country, would not handle things this way. Rather, if the vehicle stays in the state where it's registered, they can easily keep vehicle + paperwork at the same location. If the vehicle gets transferred to another location, the paperwork stays with the vehicle. Then they'd just need to file the paperwork more or less like any other dealer with one location when the vehicle gets sold.

Bought an Ecoboost Lariat w/moonroof & 110v in cab, thinking my Hybrid would not be built. Scheduled for 3/21/23.
With probable increased production assume prices will drop. Got quotes for sale, Carvana 28k, Vroom 36k. Waiting to schedule pickup. Guess location impacts offer.
Hoping for an early May delivery.
