Even though I shouldn't be surprised as we know prices are crazy, but looking at their data I was still shocked. The last time we bought a truck was in 2009, the ultimate time to buy, and that graph confirms it. We didn't even really want a truck, but fuel prices had temporarily spiked and we knew would fall so nobody wanted a gas guzzler, and the economy was a bit in the pooper so we got I think it was a bit over $9K off to under $10K off MSRP, but that was out the door with tax, title, fees, etc.
Now we're thinking of replacing it, and we're at the opposite extreme where you might pay $9-10K over MSRP if you don't want to wait 6 months in line:
