I don't know yet what the bolt options are under the Maverick hood, but here is what we use on our 2011 Escape. There when you need them. Hidden when you don't.

This looks good. I'll have to wait and see what that or the front bumper look like.

For my 12.5 foot kayak, I am just going with it in the bed and more bungee cords than I currently use in my Chevy Colorado. Tie an old cut up sweat sock on the end handle.

Opening the hood, near the hinge end is a hole in the fender framing. I inserted a web loop strap on each side of the maverick with a stop plug under. Web comes through the gap and the front tie goes to it. Depending on where the boat is placed on the rack either one side or both are necessary. You can make out the loop in the picture.

The tie point and tow point under the front bumper is a 1" hole in the sub frame. It is a little difficult to get to.
