When I stop driving and exit our "22 Maverick XLT I need to be sure to turn off the audio system before opening the door because I can never be sure it will return to the source it was using. If I don't turn the system off, it is pretty much a crap shoot that it will return to the last source when starting the truck again. I use a USB drive with music I prefer. We also use a USB drive in our 2013 Escape and it picks things up right where it was when we exit the car. Same source. Same song. Same place in the song. It's great. Our '22 XLT Maverick doesn't seem to be able to do that. How did Ford manage to do that between 2013 and 2022? If I turn the truck off and exit while the audio system is active, good luck. Upon starting it again, the audio source may return to the USB or it may go to AM or FM randomly. I never know what I'm going to get.
Is there any way around this quirk? Something in settings possibly? If so, where do I find it? Any help out there?

From my experience the Maverick's sound system is very slow at recognizing usb drives, so on start up it thinks there isn't a usb drive inserted and defaults to the radio. It's annoying but i get around it by turning off the radio before i shut off the truck and turn it back on about 30 seconds in to the next trip.
And yes my 2020 Ranger with the same sync 3 didn't have this problem, must of had a better computer.

Did you get the rear view camera recall software upgrade to the system?

Mine doesn't have that problem.

Also - there has been an upgrade to the Audio Control Module anyway - which seems to be the only upgrade that happens when you use the truck options to connect to wifi and look for an upgrade.

If you've never enabled that - get close to strong wifi, get it setup, and check for update, and take it.

In my '25 Lariat Hybrid, I usually listen to mp3 off of a thumb drive with a lot of mp3s on it (~1000). I'll occasionally (maybe 5% of the time) have it go back to radio when I start up the truck, which can be a pain as my mp3s are quieter than the radio, and if it goes to radio, I get blasted audio until I can turn it down. So '25s don't appear to be any better in that regard.

Exactly what I'm talking about. If the system isn't turned off you may get a loud surprise upon the next start-up.
