I've tried searching and cannot find a clear answer to my specific concern.

I had a 23 XLT Lux on order. I then put in an order for a 24 XLT Lux.
When I read that the private offer would be $3400, I decided that a Lariat would now work with my budget. $3400 off is a huge deal!

I contacted my dealer to make the change, and they told me this would change the body code and I would not get the private offer. Obviously I don't want to make a change that would cause me to lose out on $3400. However, they've been unable to provide any documentation to back this up and I wasn't able to get an answer through Ford Marketing either. It seems clear that if I had switched to a Lariat when I placed my MY24 order, I would have been fine, but maybe I can't now that its in the system. I watched Tim Bartz's live stream last night and it kind of sounded like I may be out of luck. The Private Offer really changed the equation, so it only seems right for Ford to allow a switch now that we know the whole story.

Anyone else going through this? I would really like a concrete answer because I really want to go Lariat but not if it costs me my Private Offer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The dealer bulletin states the following:
"Can be applied to any MY24 retail order configuration"

Which seems to me to be pretty clear that your private offer applies to any MY24 order regardless of trim and options. The offer based on your original MY23 order so I'm not sure why your MY24 order would make a difference. Someone more knowledgeable may have some clarity.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...for-2024-maverick-ford-dealer-bulletin.35483/

As an aside, I'm sure both the dealer and Ford would love for you to "trade-up" to a more expensive trim.

That was my take as well. But maybe that only applies at time of order like my dealer is implying. I just want to know for sure. Ford could have handled this whole situation a lot better. Like announcing the private offer before taking orders...

And yeah, I'm trying to throw more money at them and they won't let me.

Consider yourself lucky you are getting an offer. Ford said they weren't going to do one and they aren't doing it for other models. They had to wait until '23 orders were scheduled to calculate the final offer.

Don't get me wrong. I am grateful for the offer. But it would really be nice to know exactly what the rules are. I see no downside to Ford if I use the money they're gifting me back to upgrade to a more expensive Maverick.

I just asked my dealer to switch my Hybrid XLT to a Hybrid XL and wanted to verify that the $3400 will apply to my XL order. Still waiting to hear back from him, but According to the bulletin it should apply to ANY MY24 order.

Please let me know what you find out. My dealership doesn't seem interested in putting in much effort. I gotta think there are a lot of people in the same boat but I can't find any discussion on this specific scenario.

Well so much for that. I just got the email that I'm scheduled. Pretty sure it's too late to change now. Still excited for my new truck.

I would like to know the answer to this also, after seeing the Ford memo I had my dealer change my order from a Hybrid to a Eco AWD on Friday, just last night I saw the Ford guy video where he said changing the body code will cancel the private offer. This is contrary to the memo, now I think I’m screwed.

Get it directly from Ford's FAQs: https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/owner-resources/sales-support/maverick-retail-order-faqs/

And you can read the insert:

"Customers with unscheduled 2023 model-year Maverick orders should contact their existing dealer to submit a 2024 model-year Maverick® order, which will be price protected to match 2023 pricing. Any new content on a 2024 order not included in the original order will be negotiated and priced by their dealer. We will open the order bank for 2024 Maverick orders on July 17, 2023.

We will match new 2024 orders against existing 2023 unscheduled orders to help ensure their truck is prioritized for production. To prioritize their orders, customers will need to submit their 2024 order with the same dealer who has their 2023 order. Customers may change aspects of the 2024 order, such as trim series, powertrain, options/packages or paint colors, to meet their needs.

I had ordered a 22XLT Lux Hybrid in Oct 21, rolled over to a 23 Lariat Lux Hybrid. All the private offers were applied to my purchase.

So if I’m reading this correctly it’s up to the dealer whether they want to give you price protection or not if you make any changes, this is very confusing.

Not exactly, more like up to the dealers if they want to pass the saving to you or just keep the $ that Ford will reimburse to the dealers.

Is why it is very important to find a competent and honest dealer when you place an order for your Ford vehicle.

I ordered a 22 hybrid xlt. Of course it wasn’t built. I changed it to an eco xl and still got my private offer based on my 22 order. Got 2750 off of my xl. Awesome price!
