Can a Rexing R 4 Plus Dash Cam Be Installed on a 2025 Lariat?

Just got a 2025 Lariat. Am wanting to have a Rexing R4 Plus dash cam installed. Is this possible? is there anything I should know before taking it to Best Buy for installation?

Pretty sure most any dash cam can be installed in any model. Looks like other members have set up this specific camera in their Mavericks.

Not sure about that one, but I like my Vantrue from Amazon. On sale for 299 w/back camera. I can take install pictures later. Hard wired myself. Took about 2-3 hours because I can be OCD sometimes. It's not difficult if you feel comfortable removing and replacing panels. Here is a full dawn shot (well, I edited out my GPS coordinates from the bottom, but don't care about sharing this idiots plate...) from the front cam and then a digital zoom in on my phone. P.S. I used the built in wifi to download the video, 5 min long and it took 3 to download. Slow but steady.

You can get a fuse adapter (passenger footwell under the mat) to plug in the power then I wired that to a cigarette lighter adapter, tucked it all in under the floormat. Then you just get a plastic tool to push the wires in behind the plastic/ windshield up to the top and down to the camera.

I installed a Rove front/rear camera in my Mav and already had one in our camper (front only). I have heard very good things about Vantrue.

If you are comfortable (go through a bunch of the Mav cam install videos to see if you want to) I know my Rove's came with a panel removal tool to use.

If you do the install yourself, make sure you see a video that shows how to route the wires down the driver or passenger pillar so they don't interfere with the AIRBAGS behind the pillar covers!

THIS IS CRITICAL FOR YOUR SAFETY in an accident.

There are many ways to power your camera, look into which suits you.

I use a dongle that plugs into the OBD 11 port to power the camera on both of mine. Very easy to do yourself, available on Amazon for cheap.

I used the included clamps to route it around the center module thingy into the headliner. Down and behind the passenger side a pillar (this part can get tricky due to the mounting and foam pcs. Down the side of the dash then behind the glove box. Also used a fuse "tap" to get both ignition and 24/7 power sources. For the backn I gently lifted the door bottom trims and routed between the seat belts and body to avoid stretching the cable then up behind the rear seat and back into the trim.
