Yep sure is. Two tabs on either side and the door folds down. Be gentle. Make sure you put the filter in the correct orientation. There should be arrows on the side of it.New Maverick XLT owner here, don't flame me.... Is the Cabin Air Filter behind the glove box like most vehicles? Tia.
Perfect, thank you so much....Yep sure is. Two tabs on either side and the door folds down. Be gentle. Make sure you put the filter in the correct orientation. There should be arrows on the side of it.
Almost forgot... to lower the glove box there is a tab on the right side of it. Push it and it'll release.Perfect, thank you so much....![]()
Yes, the Exlporers are a PITA, on my 19 you have to retarded plastic pins to remove. The biggest pita is getting them to go back in properly. Like why couldn't the glovebox just snap on and off of a channel like my equinox that's so easy to change the cabin filter on.I remember changing the cabin filters in one of my vehicles several years ago - might have been my 99 Explorer, but I don't remember. Anyway, it involved some disassembly to the engine side of the firewall to access it. I'm so glad that they made them easier to access these days.
I'd have thought that they'd have improved things a lot since back in 99. My Explorer was still the older style body-on-frame that shared some parts with the Ranger of that time frame. But apparently not.Yes, the Exlporers are a PITA, on my 19 you have to retarded plastic pins to remove. The biggest pita is getting them to go back in properly. My previous 12' & 16' F-150 XLT's were easier than the the Explorer plastic tab inserts.I'd have thought that they'd have improved things a lot since back in 99. My Explorer was still the older style body-on-frame that shared some parts with the Ranger of that time frame. But apparently not.
I'd check the ones in my F-150 and Escape, but if my build date is correct, those will be gone soon and I'll have a Maverick in their place.
Well, it most likely is before the evaporator so it will keep it clean, just like the one in your house. I would not run without it even though we did it for years.Curious if these just filter air coming into the cabin? If so I will toss and not replace. Been driving almost 50 years without one, besides,no filter when you roll the windows downbut,if it is crucial to air conditioner function/longevity I will definitely replace. Thoughts?
Anybody remember the Mobil Oil commercials featuring "Dirt"?dirty oil, dirty air filter, dirty cabin filter. looking for a sponsorship?
