Built order lost?

My August Maverick order was built April 13 and shipped shortly thereafter. Was estimated to be delivered up here to Canada in mid May pushed a few times and finally by early June, Ford tracker updated to say it was delivered to my dealer. I stopped by the dealer since they’re close by but the only Maverick there was not the one I ordered, VIN was off by two digits from my VIN. Salesman later goes on to tell me the shipping company switched my order. Three weeks later and still no truck, no updates… is my order lost? Have called Ford Canada and they have been completely useless. What else can be done?

hate to say it, but sounds like the dealer sold it out from under you. I've never heard of a shipping company having permission or ability to "switch" an order in transit :confused:

My Oct 9 Hybrid order has also vanished but never scheduled to be built. There is no record of cancellation or it ever existing. I called the ford number 8 times but got nowhere. My best success has been to send a message via the Facebook messenger. The advantage over the using the phone is I could attach photos and screenshots of docs to prove my point. I’m still waiting on their investigation response though so they could be pacifying me or could be actually investigating. I have a case number assigned.

The dealer is saying the trucking company mixed my vehicle with another and sent the wrong one here. When I went to the dealership there was a Maverick there, just not the one I ordered. The VIN differed by two digits. I wanna believe them but some of these dealers...

I assumed they would be able to track it down, but it's been almost 4 weeks and still nothing.

Good bet that the dealer that incorrectly got your truck sold it faster than you can say Maverick.

Good Luck, mine was also "lost" on it's way to the dealer (https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/my-truck-is-lost.12082/). It "only" took a little over a week for mine to be found so your four-week ordeal is worse but keep the faith. None of the worst-case scenarios I had in my head turned out to be true. The most likely theory I got from my sales rep was that the rail yard lost the key to the car and didn't want to admit it while they looked for it.

In the end it will most likely show up, in the mean time figure out what you want Ford to do to "make it right" if it never shows up. A truck was built for you, you got a VIN Number. If it is never found at a minimum they should build you another one at the original price. You should not have to start over at the back of the line.

So far Ford has told me to start over and order a MY 23 when the order banks open. Lots of wasted time since I ordered Oct 9 2021. I can’t believe my order is gone without me canceling it

I hope you’re right and it does finally show up. Ford Canada won’t even reply to my emails so I doubt they’ll do anything to make it right if it never shows.

It might be that it is waiting for a chip? That there was some issue that needs to be fixed? Or involved in a recall that they will fix before they release it to be shipped?

Most of the time vehicles from our dealership were "on hold" it was because they were waiting for some chip. Those have all been resolved now though.

I don't think I can check on any of that for a VIN from another dealership, otherwise I would try to figure out what is going on for you!
