So, like many I finally got my initial build week assignment for the week of July 3rd. Yay...but;

I'm going to be out of town (actually off-continent) from July 10th thru the 18th, and my dealer (Charlotte, NC area) has said they are expecting payment/pickup within 3 days of delivery.

With a build week of July 3rd, approximately how long would it take for the vehicle to arrive at the 'ship? Am I going to have to make arrangements to buy this truck sight unseen?

Edit: after reviewing a few other posts, it looks like delivery is usually 1 month out from build. I should be fine.

You will probably be home before it arrives. Also, tell them now you will be out of town. Most dealerships aren't completely unreasonable and will float you a few days. Also, nowadays, you barely need to even be in the dealership to close the deal.

Mine has the same rule and I've seen a Maverick "on hold" for two weeks on their lot before it was picked up.

That's all on the dealership. Mine is getting delivered in Mid-June and I'm not picking it up until 2 1/2 weeks later.

If yours makes it to the dealer in NC by July 18 after a July 3 build, you will have set a delivery record. Plan on 2-3 days before shipping, then 2-3 weeks on train, then a few days before delivery. If you are worried, give them a deposit check post-dated and they should be fine.

You should be fine. I'm in California, close to the factory and from build week to the day it arrived at the dealer was about 3 weeks. See my signature.

I'll most likely be out of town when mine comes in. I told the dealer that and he said no problem it's your truck we will just put it in the showroom till you pick it up.

My truck was "shipped" according to the tracker on April 25th.
It was offloaded from the train on May 10th in a yard north of Houston.
It might be delivered to the dealer (100 miles from the train yard) on May 28-June 1st....

The last leg (car hauler) has been slow.

But your timeframe should be fine...chances are it will be on the train when you get back. I would still let your contacts at the dealer know, just to be safe.
