Actually turns out that my insurance only pays out 110% of my '23 MSRP. With the jump up between 23 and 24, it's out of range.
Been fun guys. Enjoy your mavvies, and watch out for other people.
I wish you the very best of luck. Mine took a hit like that and ended up totaled. If that happens, and insurance sends you a report from 'CCC' that says it's worth a couple thousand less than it really was, I'd fight like a madman against it.
So, I figure I'd drop a little note here about how it's going trying to get back into another Mavvy. the answer is... not great.
My truck, being judged a total loss, is off to the junkyard or rebuilder. I was smart (I thought) and bought "New Car Replacement Plus" coverage. I researched...
So for anyone curious: This is the level of damage necessary to render a Maverick a total loss. Went today to collect my plates, straps, cargo net, Tonneau (which I negotiated to keep), and docs with personal info.
Now just waiting on a check and a hearty "good luck" with finding a new one.
Welp,
Just got word from the repair shop. they are saying that the damage underneath was significantly worse than anticipated, and that my repair estimate is up to $22,000. I guess we know what that means. I'll write back here if I get confirmation, but it looks like I might be looking for a...
My state (SC) allows me to file a claim for Loss of Value, so after repair I'll probably do that.
The appraisal cost will be out of pocket, but I figure that this is going to cause the value to drop a couple of thousand.
Glad you're ok. I agree, this is the painful part. Be sure, if your state...
Welp, right after putting 6,000 miles in, this happened.
I can't be angry with the guy that hit us: he was having a "medical issue". What I am a little sore about is the fact that the hit took out my entire rear-end safety system and camera. Plus, when they did the damage estimate, I was told...
When we traded my wife's last car (Rogue for CRV) at a KIA stealership, the value according to KBB was $11,800. Dealer offered us $8,000. I told the guy what the KBB value was, and he responded with "Kelley Blue Book ain't never wrote a check or sold a car at auction". (Yes, I'm in the US...
So I took possession of mine on Aug 3rd. Super easy transaction, everything in great shape based on all of the checklists.
The only thing I noticed was when I closed the tailgate for the first time, there was the sound of metal falling through cracks. I've had enough 'northern' vehicles to...
So, like many I finally got my initial build week assignment for the week of July 3rd. Yay...but;
I'm going to be out of town (actually off-continent) from July 10th thru the 18th, and my dealer (Charlotte, NC area) has said they are expecting payment/pickup within 3 days of delivery.
With a...

Depending on the person asking:
1. You're So right! Let me go drop $50,000+ on a new F150 with similar options. Not.
2. At least I'm going to have instant equity when it shows up.
3. I'm not worried. I love working on my Altima.
4. I know, right? Crazy, haha.
5. Am I crazy?
6. I mean a...
