Does the Mav have proportioned braking? My Transit (not Connect) has something like 60% force at the rear and 40% at the front; to prevent nose-diving. The rears wear out faster.

I replaced my Transit (not Connect) rear pads pretty early, like only 50k miles, because when I took it to a dealer for a recall repair they told me that "there is only a mm left on the rear pads, it's not safe to drive, we'll replace them for $350". I declined and set about doing it at home for $30, only to discover there was at least 6-8mm remaining on the old pads (thanks, disservice center liar!). I did the front at around 120k, both are great at the current 160k. I used semi-metallic pads on the rear, then ceramic on the front thinking it was an "upgrade" but replaced them after 5k miles because of the screaming noise that never went away. Which is weird, because ceramic is supposed to be quieter.

More relevant to this thread, I also installed drilled rotors in the rear to keep the heat down and extend pad life. Not for "performance"; anyone who needs to brake hard all the time gets what they deserve, a lot of maintenance expense. Or perhaps they never learned how to drive correctly, like a boss I had that would only floor it or slam on the brakes, no in-between, he could have just had a switch instead of gas and brake pedals.

so, my personal choice would be to get semi-metallic pads and drilled rotors if you're needing replacement. I don't think the brand is more important than the composition.
